The Hummingbird’s Song: Clothed in Glory
Why do you worry, spinning thread in your mind?
Searching for treasures you struggle to find?
Look at the sparrow, who sings in the air,
Look at the hummingbird, vibrant and rare.
They do not labor, they do not spin,
Yet look at the glory they are covered in.
A flash of emerald, a ruby-red throat,
Better than any king’s finest coat.
If the Father so dresses the birds of the sky,
Who dart through the garden and soar up on high,
Will He not clothe you, O daughter of light,
In radiance unmatched, in beauty so bright?
So put on His promise, let worry depart,
Drape His deep peace ‘round your wondering heart.
For you are more precious, by far, than the birds,
Adorned in His love and sustained by His words.
Wear kindness and grace as your daily attire,
Let faith be the fabric that never will tire.
For the One who watches the sparrow take flight,
Is clothing you now in Love’s Pure Light.
