Get fresh oil. Be wise. Like the five.
From Ancient of days, a story is told,
Of virgins ten, both timid and bold.
They waited for the Bridegroom's call,
With lamps prepared, expecting all.
Five were called wise, for they made their account,
And carried their oil in a fresh, steady fount.
But five were called foolish, they failed to foresee,
The need for the Spirit’s supply to be free.
The midnight cry: "Behold, He is near!"
Awoke the hearts held captive by fear.
The wise rose up, their wicks burning bright,
Reflected the King in His glorious light.
The foolish lamented, "Our lamps are now dim,
Please lend us your oil to run after Him!"
But the wise had to answer, "It cannot be shared,
Go buy for yourselves, let your soul be prepared."
The wise found the door, a great marriage to keep,
While the foolish went searching, while others did sleep.
The door then was shut, and a lesson was given,
To keep your oil fresh for your journey to heaven.--
Matthew 25:4 : "The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps."
Matthew 25:13 : "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour."
