The Shepherd's heart is tender, strong, and true,
He tends the flock in all that they pursue.
The little lambs, so fragile and so weak,
He gathers close, the comfort that they seek.
Held to His breast, they know no fear or harm,
Secure within the circle of His arm.
And those with young, He guides with gentle pace,
A steady comfort in this holy place.
"I am the Gate," His loving voice proclaims,
The single doorway called by saving names.
Who enters through me finds a life made whole,
Salvation's surety for every soul.
They walk in freedom, they go out and in,
And find green pasture where new life begins.
No better rest, no greater care to find,
Than with the Shepherd, leaving none behind.
